Good Spirits “3 in 1” Earrings

Dragonflies represent “good spirits” in Indigenous culture. This is an original design by me. They can be worn three different way; base, shoulder dusters, combine the two for a statement piece. The shells represent trade between the costal and plains tribes and the Pendleton wool was a gift from my husband. He sifted through bins at the mill in Portland as a gift to me for my art.

Materials

-size 11 seed beads

-rhinestone embellishments

- shells

-Amazonia

-Pendleton wool

Time

Approximately 6 hours

This artwork is protected under the “Native American Arts and Crafts Act of 1990”. This still means beadwork for all but I am able to claim my art as “authentic”.
